2013 Ford Escape and Fusion Review

Ford has announced a voluntary recall of 73,320 units and 15,833 Fusion Escape 2013 model due to an overheating problem in various mechanical systems of the engine through which pass certain liquids, this spill would cause a fire.

Affected vehicles are equipped with the 1.6L EcoBoost engine and were sold both in the U.S. and Canada. The versions 2.0 and 2.5L engines were not harmed.

So far 12 accidents reported this problem where the model Escape was involved and in one with the Fusion.

To fix the problem Ford will update the device software 1.6L engine cooling available in the SE and SEL, this will allow better management of engine temperatures. According to the manufacturer, the design of the original cooling system did not accept the response of a pressure loss of the cooling apparatus in certain operating conditions.

The owners of the affected units should visit their dealership to fix the problem and do the upgrade. If you want to know more you can visit Ford.com and see the Notices and Recalls section.

It should be noted that this recall does not harm the Ford Escape or Fusion sold in our country, as carried by 2 and 2.5L engines, which present no problem.
