2014 Nissan X-Trail

Nissan X-Trail replaces marketed since 2007 (more information), and renewed in 2011 (more information) for a completely new model that keeps the name. Will be available in Europe from July 2014. In other markets, Nissan Rogue is called.

The design change from the previous model is evident. Another notable difference between the two is the number of places, and that the new model can have seven (image) instead of five. The second row seats can be moved longitudinally to increase legroom or for passengers in the third row. Or the luggage, if the third row of seats folded.

Nissan retains the rack vertically to separate the trunk. When this workpiece is in the upper position, can be placed over it to 10 kg at the bottom, 75. The gate, made mostly of plastic, can be electrically operated.

The new X-Trail may have unusual piece of equipment, such as headlights ledes (for short and long), or even one that currently only has the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, a system, which Nissan calls "Active Ride Control "- which detects the undulations of the road before you get to them and prepares the suspension to minimize body pitch.

The Xtronic automatic transmission has a feature called "Active Engine Brake" which increases engine braking when braking to stop the car or on a curve. Nissan says the benefits are more control and better brake pedal feel. The handbrake has been replaced by an electric one (image) that allows more space in the console.

It also has a multimedia system, which is managed from a color TFT screen 5 inches (image), internet connection (there will be several applications, including some social networks). One of the things that allows home is set on a path with the computer and then transfer it to the browser of the car. This screen also serves to inform the driver of the trip computer data or torque distribution.

There will be versions with front-or all pluggable. The latter, called ALL MODE4x4i, is configured with a round knob that allows front wheel drive, a mode that automatically selects the type of traction and position fixing the multi-plate clutch coupling that connects the rear wheels to the front.

So far no information of the engine range and the dimensions of the car. The Nissan Qashqai +2 also has seven seats.
