Car Review: Opel Insignia (Price of Insurance and More Information)

The Opel Insignia is a tourism of 4.83 meters in length that is available with four-door body and hatchback. The wagon variant - Insignia Sports Tourer, is three inches larger (4.91 meters). There is a sports version, a sedan or family, called "OPC". The Insignia hit the market in late 2008 to replace the Vectra.

The 4p Insignia is on sale from € 26,224, while the 5p Insignia is available from € 23,649. Since January 2013, the first of which have a range of smaller engines. This was the last change in the Insignia range. Since the markets have been several, the most important in September 2011 when Opel introduced small developments both inside and equipment (more information) and the range of engines (more information). In the section on the range detailed evolution of all changes.

You can have a lot of equipment, with some interesting options-tabs trim tabs Insignia equipment 4p and 5p-Badge, and the wide variety of diesel and petrol engines.

Opel has tried to give an air of the Insignia coupe-something similar to what Volkswagen has done with the Volkswagen CC, and that adversely affects the size of the rear seats and the shape of the boot, which is not very profitable. The station wagon variant (Insignia Sports Tourer) has more space in the rear seats and a trunk easier to load.

The front seats are correct. We have really enjoyed versions seats 'Sport', with multiple regulations and provide good support to the body. Furthermore, they can be ventilated, which results in hot comfort because it prevents the accumulation of sweat in the contact parts of the body with the seat.

A limitation of the cockpit of the Insignia is that visibility is good in all directions and you have to assume that the management of certain controls not comfortable-for example, the trip computer. Some buttons, such as the console, not well organized and there are many that can be difficult to find one in particular.

The Insignia is available with three gasoline engines and four diesel. All engines are coupled to a gearbox six-speed manual except OPC can also have automatic transmission. Previously had automatic transmission option for higher horsepower engines, from September 2012, and no.

All versions are front-wheel drive Insignia, except those with the 2.0 Turbo engine and 250 hp OPC standard with all-wheel drive ("4x4"). You can also wear this type of traction the two more powerful diesel variants. The system of four-wheel drive is not permanent: it has a Haldex clutch that engages the rear wheels to the front.

The Insignia 2.0 CDTI 131 HP is on sale from € 25,105 with five-door body € 26,838 with the four-door. It is a higher price than some alternatives, such as the Toyota Avensis, Ford Mondeo, Citroen C5 or Kia Optima, but lower than other, like a Peugeot 508 or a Volkswagen Passat.

We have thoroughly tested the diesel engine of 160 hp. It has a particularly noisy operation cold and when accelerating from low speed intensity. On the road, when the car is already released, the noise is not visible in the passenger compartment. The relationship between performance and fuel economy is good. You can go in combination with an automatic gearbox operating-or right-hand. A more we liked the automatic version.

At least with the optional suspension varying hardness ("FlexRide") and 18-inch wheels, it's how we tested, the Insignia is not particularly comfortable, in very specific - other equivalent sedans like the Citroen C5. We have not tested with the standard buffer or with other wheels.

The new 195 hp diesel engine, available since February 2012 and has two turbochargers, we have conducted all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive version of the traditional family body. We driving impressions in the section on this body and expand and complement the information on the blog with videos Teleport.

Equipment

You can choose from four trim levels: 'Excellence', 'Expression', 'Selective' and 'Sportive' "Opel Insignia equipment chips chips 4p and 5p Opel Insignia equipment.

It has seemed extraordinary adaptive lighting system ("AFL + '). It can be an interesting option for those who travel at night soles on unlit roads. You can also have normal headlights xenon adaptive lighting-without-as well as those with halogen bulb, we have not had the opportunity to try.

Can be equipped with a system for traffic sign recognition. Operated through a front camera ("Opel Eye"), which performs more functions.
