Mercedes-Benz Class C 63 AMG Price and Insurance Cost


The sportiest version of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is available as a sedan, coupe family. The C 63 AMG of 2011 compared to the C 63 AMG it replaces, as well as aesthetic differences, has a different gearbox - "AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7" - and changes to the suspension and steering.

Regarding the previous generation, the 2011 C 63 AMG spends less. Now, the average consumption (in the hatchback body variant) is 12 l/100 km (a reduction of 1.4 liters).


No change in the engine compared to previous AMG C 63. Gas is atmospheric, with eight cylinders arranged in a "V" and 6,208 cm ³. Da 457 hp at 6,800 rpm and maximum torque of 600 Nm at 5,000 rpm. If you buy the package "AMG Performance ', the power increases to 487 hp.

The gearbox seven-speed automatic is available on other models of the brand as the Class E 63 AMG. It has four operating modes, which alter the speed of change and the rate at which they occur. The gears can also be selected manually by the two cams, aluminum, located behind the wheel. This also was the case epicyclic but the coupling of the engine was by a torque converter, instead of having this multi-plate clutch.



 

They change the springs and dampers, which are firmer, and the rear stabilizer bar, which is larger in diameter. Has also increased the fall (negative) of the suspension and the tracks are wider. The steering, hydraulic power steering, has a new pump that works only when the driver turns the steering wheel. Thus, consumption decreases. It also has a lower gear ratio (13.5 to 1).

The brake system consists of vented and perforated discs on both axles. The clamps are painted gray and have the inscription "AMG". Optionally you can have a cast iron front discs with aluminum support. According Mercedes-Benz, better withstand the temperature that occurs in heavy use.

The standard wheels are 18-inch tires measures 235/40 R18 front and 255/35 R18 at the rear. Optionally you can have 19-inch wheels with 235/35 R19 front and 255/30 R19 rear. The rear bumper is a diffuser air. In it are integrated four oval tailpipes, are located two on each side (picture).


There are several equipment packages AMG. One, the 'AMG Performance', includes elements that affect, in most cases, the dynamic performance. Increases engine power of 457 hp to 487 hp. This is achieved by replacing the pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft for those from Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. In addition, the intake manifold is painted gray, the front discs are compounds (other material for the hub and the rim of friccioón), the brake calipers are painted red and a small spoiler in carbon fiber sedan and coupe body styles. Inside you change the steering wheel, which is lined with leather and Alcantara-only instead of leather.

The "Driver AMG" top speed increases to 280 km / h and includes a driving course.

Appearance and equipment
 


The interior design varies considerably over the 2007 model. Now the browser screen is hidden under a cover. In the center of the dashboard, inside the speedometer, there is a color screen which can display information related to the vehicle and its configuration. The steering wheel is slightly flattened at the top and bottom.

The seats, electrically adjustable, are upholstered as standard with two types of skin - "ARTICO" and "DYNAMIC" -. There are different colors and two-tone combinations (pictures inside).
