Car Review and Road Tests: Chevrolet Captiva Price, Insurance Price and More Info

The Chevrolet Captiva is an SUV of 4.67 meters in length that is available from € 20,650 .
In mid-2013 introduces some aesthetic changes and equipment: the bumpers have a new design-forward also is lower-, pilots are lit by ledes and terminations are now chrome exhausts and angular shape. There are also new upholstery and a new model alloy wheels 18 inches. As for equipment, the main changes are the ability to have a system of keyless access and a dual zone climate control, heated rear seats and ambient lighting package. This article deals with the model that went on sale in April 2011, an update to hit the market in mid-2006.
The differences between the two are mainly aesthetic-change front and dashboard-and mechanical: all engines are different and have more power than the previous model. There are two diesel -2.2 VCDI of 163 or 184 hp, and two petrol -2.4 3.0 167 hp and 258 hp. They are also different gearboxes, the manual and the automatic.
You can have seven seats. The first five are spacious, the third row can be useful at times but not for long journeys (except for children). When using the seven, the trunk volume is low (97 liters), which occurs in all SUVs with this possibility. When only used five main void volume of the trunk is the same (477 liters), is a version of five or seven seats. The difference there is, is under the floor, where the seven-seater takes the seats folded, the five has several deep holes, about 20 cm.
Chevrolet Captiva. Model 2011.We tested the 184 HP diesel, which suffers from lack of immediacy to the actions of the driver on the accelerator (which also happens to 163 hp). Compared to other size SUV we've tested, which are less powerful-the Captiva is slower and has a normal consumption. The petrol version of 167 hp seems much nicer than any of the Diesel. We led the most powerful petrol (258 hp).
The Captiva is an SUV designed for intense off-road use - not reducing - though all-wheel drive (available depending on version) and the system that controls the speed on the descents will be of assistance to certain obstacles. Nor do I think of the best on the road. A Mazda CX-7 or Mitsubishi Outlander , for example, I look better in any type of roads, especially those with many. It is convenient for traveling because it is not very loud but the suspension does not isolate passengers as well as in other cars.
One change that has made Chevrolet in the cockpit is to remove the parking brake for an electric one. Not only is it more convenient to use (mechanical one) but removing the brake lever has been used to design a large center console and useful where there is a tray with two cup holders that can slide backwards giving access a drawer with enough space to carry, for example, a bottle of two liters water without disturbing the shifting. What it does is annoy some drivers armrest, element against which can hit the arm when putting the even gears that mesh-the pulling back of the lever.Under the armrest there is another drawer with space to hold a wallet, glasses and a phone. Otherwise no changes affecting what we wrote the passenger compartment and the trunk of Captiva when we tested the previous model.
Chevrolet Captiva. Model 2011.The most affordable Captiva Diesel costs 23 400 Euros, has the 163 hp engine, manual transmission and AWD. If we search among SUV that measured 4.55 to 4.75 m and have a diesel engine of 150-175 hp check which is the cheapest, second only to a version of the Opel Antara, which is basically the same car the front-drive Captiva. The Antara with AWD and the same 163 hp engine costs 2400 Euros more.
That is cheap does not impact on a carrier with details wrong topped or very low quality parts. In this aspect, the Captiva seems similar to others. Yes we note that some items of equipment are simple-conditioner with temperature control one or three rear proximity sensors for parking assistance, instead of the usual four or even no cars with six-or operation is clearly improved, as rear camera, whose images do not play continuously (suddenly gets "frozen" moments as the car continues to shrink) - or the browser (information just see when it gets the sun and its operation is improved). A novelty of this model is that you now have a support system hill start (kept the car braking moments since the driver releases the brake). There are three trim levels: "LS", "LT" and "LTZ" .
