Volvo V40 Cross Country Price and More Info

The V40 Cross Country V40 variant is adapted for driving on dirt roads, as its ground clearance is 40 mm higher. This gain is achieved by changes to the suspension and because standard tires are larger in diameter than the V40 (and with a higher sidewall, which also reduces the risk of damaging them when driving on surfaces in poor condition).

All variants are front wheel drive, except T4 and T5 versions, which have four-wheel drive, and also hill descent control. Regarding a V40, on the carrier there are differences and also the space for occupant (hence their front seats are correct and the subsequent bit spacious. More interior impressions V40).

Has elements with plastic-metal appearance in some areas of the body. As in other V40 models, low are partially covered, but they are not designed to safeguard protections mechanical elements from shocks when driving over uneven surfaces but to improve aerodynamics.

It is a model with few rivals in the market. Perhaps the closest is the MINI Countryman. With diesel engine 110-115 hp, the V40 Cross Country is € 1,760 more expensive than the Countryman.

A motor equality and equipment, the V40 Cross Country is about 1250 € more expensive than the V40 and consumes between 0.1 and 0.2 l/100 km more.

It is on sale from € 26,260 ( all prices) . This price corresponds to the version Diesel ( D2 ) of 114 horses. In my view it is a full version recommended for low power consumption ( at least according to official data, clearly spends less than any of the more powerful diesel versions ) and I think it gives enough acceleration . For example , on a slope of highway about 5 % slope and about 140 km / h in sixth gear still had capacity to continue gaining momentum , albeit very slowly . Maybe I pay 1600 euros to compensate additional power the next version ( D3 ) for those traveling on roads usually with little room to advance .
What we write when we drove the V40 D2 can convey the idea that it is a slow car . I do not what it seemed , but as the V40 Cross Country D2 we have taken other roads, the perception may be different. Try to test a V40 Cross Country unit D2 to make a more detailed assessment .
Curve reactions are similar to those of a V40 . The driver note those 4 extra inches high driving position relative to the ground , but not much in its dynamic qualities . The body has no big movements did not seem to sway more than necessary for that extra height . On winding roads can be driven at a rate similar to a V40, with a similar sense of control and security. Volvo gets that this model responds well in part because it has a firm suspension , which holds good body and does not allow excessive movement . Not uncomfortable but not perfectly isolate the occupants from the ground state . We also did not clearly tougher than a regular V40 .

Engine, traction, transmission and equipment

It is available with three diesel engines-114 hp versions of D2, D3 and D4 150 hp 177 hp and two petrol-T4-T5 179 hp and 254 hp. Ell T4 engine is different from the V40, has five cylinders and two liters of displacement (four cylinders and 1.6 liters in the V40). The power in both cases is 179 hp.

All versions are front-wheel drive versions except T4 T5 179 hp and 254 hp with AWD system and hill descent control ("HDC"). As standard, these versions have a six-speed automatic transmission ("Geatronic"), the other a manual gearbox or six-speed automatic transmission as an option - "Geatronic" torque converter or 'Powershift' dual clutch, depending motor.

The equipment is very similar to other versions of the V40. There are three levels: 'Kinetic', 'Momentum' and 'Summum'. All variants come as standard with at least eight airbags, including one for the driver's knees and another to protect pedestrians in the event of collision-, stability control, dual zone climate control, alloy wheels and automatic engine start-stop ("stop & Start") in arrests (trim tabs).

Like the V40, the rear seatbacks fold down in a ratio 40/60 and is available in different types of tarps option and fences to separate the cargo area from the passenger. The trunk has a capacity of 335 liters with five seats in use, like the other variants of the V40-, which is enough for a car of 4.37 meters.

This version has a number of V40 body colors and upholstery exclusive. Here you can configure a custom V40 Cross Country.
