Chrysler Sebring 200C Sedan

The Sebring Chrysler 200C is for sale in Spain since 2007, is brand new, not an upgrade of the previous Sebring. At the time of launch there will be a body (four-door). In July, approximately, will also be two two-door convertible versions: one with a retractable hardtop and a canvas roof.

Initially, the range of 200C Sebring (which is the name of this model in Spain, not in other countries) is composed of a version with 140 hp diesel engine and 156 hp gasoline. The former is available in two trim levels, one basic and one called richest Limited, the only gasoline with what is normal.

It is a front-wheel drive sedan and a length of 4,842 mm. That is, slightly larger than a Hyundai Sonata or Chevrolet Epica (both 4.8 m). Its length is almost the same as that of a BMW 5 Series or a Volvo S80, but their equipment and engine line corresponds to the smaller, cheaper cars like a Ford Mondeo or Opel Vectra.

The Sebring 200C Sedan 2.0 of 156 hp costs € 24,260. The 2.0 CRD diesel version is priced at € 25,100 (€ 27,800 the Limited), intermediate between that cost models like the Hyundai Sonata and the Ford Mondeo and others as the Alfa Romeo 159 and the Honda Accord (price comparison table, ordered from lowest to highest).

Both engines have four cylinders and 2.0 liter displacement. The gasoline seems unwise versus Diesel because it wastes (although from what I have seen in the presentation is moderate consumption) and, above all, because even though he has 16 hp more difficulty gaining speed in gear long.

These engines are the same that has the Dodge Caliber. The origin is Diesel Volkswagen. The gasoline is manufactured by Global Engine for some brands of DaimlerChrysler to Mitsubishi and Hyundai.

In late summer there will be another petrol engine with six-cylinder 2.7 liter engine and automatic transmission. In USA is available with a range of different engines (2.4, 2.7 and 3.5 liter engine) and all gasoline.

Sebring from the previous nor the length of the body (4,846 mm 4,842 mm versus new) or the width (1.791 mm to 1.808 mm in front of the new) change appreciably. What does change is that the new body has a clearly higher, is 104 mm higher than the former (1.498 mm in total), which is a normal finding in the saloons of this size.

The battle also grows from 2.743 to 2.765 mm. However, is characterized by rather short for the length of the vehicle (taking into account what is currently normal). Penetration coefficient Cx of the bodywork is 0.331, which is a data low.

The Sebring 200C Sedan stands out for the available width, especially in the rear seats (although it is thought that only two people occupy these places). The trunk is large, deep, not loud and irregular shapes.

The equipment includes stability control, six airbags, monitoring tire pressure, notice the use of seat belts and child restraint seats. It also has climate control, cruise control, computer, auto-dimming rearview mirror, radio cd mp3 compatible (auxiliary connection) and 17 "wheels.

The Limited also has leather upholstery with heated front seats, a support for heated and chilled drinks (images 1 and 2), chrome exterior trim and handles and 18 "wheels.

Among the items of equipment which may optionally have is a sunroof, a screen for the rear seats and a browser with touch screen 6.5 "with voice recognition to operate different functions and DVD player (which only works when the car is stopped). This browser is associated with a 20 GB hard disk where you can store music (WMA), photos (JPEG), save voice messages and download MP3 files through a USB connection. connection may also have "bluetooth 'for the phone.

Chrysler was part of the final design of the Sebring in the prototype Airflite, 2003. The new Sebring is manufactured at the Sterling Heights (Michigan, USA).
