Chrysler Viper SRT-10

In early 2003, Chrysler will sell a new Viper that, in principle, only be available in roadster version.

To design this car, Chrysler has taken the main features of the prototype Viper RT-10 1989 and the GTS / R presented in Detroit in 2000.

Mechanically, has revised some aspects. Chrysler says the new Viper is faster, powerful, lighter and handier than the above, also has more powerful brakes. V10 has a different, more capacity (8,277 cm ³) and power (506 hp). The estimated top speed is 306 km / h.

Structurally not change but are somewhat different body dimensions. Improved aerodynamics and torsional stiffness, the suspensions remain the same although Chrysler has revised springs and dampers. Like the previous model does not have traction control (self-locking), or stability. It does have ABS and xenon headlights for long and short.

Besides the appearance of the body (the pictures correspond to the Dodge Viper SRT-10, not Chrysler), change the dashboard (which has reformatted instrumentation) and position the steering wheel is adjustable pedals and are better placed than in the previous model .

In the U.S. the Dodge Viper SRT-10 is 30% cheaper than a Porsche 911 Turbo ($ 80,790 compared to $ 116,200 the Porsche).
