MINI Cooper Driving Impressions, Price and Insurance Cost



The MINI is a sight three doors and four seats that is available from € 15,400. In the summer of 2010 was slightly updated with new diesel engines and changes to the exterior, interior and equipment. These changes have also affected the different body variants: MINI Clubman, MINI Coupe, MINI Convertible, MINI Roadster and MINI Countryman.

You can choose from six petrol engines and three diesel. The first versions correspond to One (75 to 98 hp), Cooper (122 hp), Cooper S (184 hp), John Cooper Works (211 hp) and John Cooper Works GP (not yet declared power), while the other One D are variants (90 hp), Cooper D (112 hp) and Cooper SD (143 hp).

 

The Cooper SD version is new. It is available from € 25,350, the same to be paid by a Cooper S, and 4350 more than a Cooper D 112 hp. The first units will arrive in dealerships in spring 2011. Since the second half of 2011 will be available a package of equipment "John Cooper Works" which slightly modifies the exterior and interior.


The MINI stands out for its agility and stability. It has a hard suspension makes it not awkward. Cooper D version has a new 112 hp diesel engine that has a smooth under almost any circumstances, consumes little fuel and has very good response.
 

The interior differs little from the previous model. It remains valid only for two adults in the rear because there is very little legroom. Yes it can be usable as a car for two adults and two children. It is only approved for four occupants. The interior is lined with quality materials, hard but with good touch and excellent interference fit. There are slight changes to the design.

By size, the MINI is an alternative to models like the Alfa Romeo MiTo-larger-or smaller Fiat-500-although price is closer to others of greater length as the Audi A1, the Citroën DS3 or Volkswagen Polo.

 

The MINI is more expensive than most of its alternatives, both petrol and diesel engine. With some, like the Fiat 500 or the 207, the difference is large, with others such as the Alfa Romeo MiTo, Audi A1 and Citroen DS3, it is less.

All MINI range engines were available in the previous model, except for versions One D and Cooper D, which are new. The gearbox series carrying all versions is a six-speed manual, although some may have an automatic transmission of an equal number of ratios.



The MINI, in any of its variants, has a set of measures that consumption is minimized. They are a system of stop-start engine ("Auto Start-Stop") in the arrests, an alternator that generates electricity primarily during deceleration, recommended gear indicator and electromechanical power steering ("EPS"), among other.

The MINI Cooper SD will arrive in spring 2011 consumes 4.3 l/100 km. They are just 0.5 l/100 km variants One D and Cooper D (3.8 l/100 km). A Opel Corsa 130 hp consumes 4.5 l/100 km. There is a low-power version with petrol engine 75 hp, called MINI One MINIMALISM Line.

Equipment and other details

As with all MINI models, there are several levels of equipment but a number of other standard features (many) optional.

Standard equipment is plentiful but not all versions come standard with six airbags, stability control, power windows and pressure sensors in the tires, among other elements.

There are different packages to vary the exterior and interior, called "Rallye", "Classic" and "Scene". They are different color combinations between bodywork and roof color, the design of the alloy wheels, the interior trim, upholstery and dashboard decorative inserts, among other things. Versions Cooper S and John Cooper Works have a slightly different.

The MINI can be a system, called "MINI Connected", which premiered on MINI Countryman, which allows listening to radio via the internet and update social networks like Facebook or Twitter by connecting an iPhone.


Insurance price and other details
