2014 Suzuki S-Cross Specifications, Price and Insurance Price

This model, which in some markets called SX4 S-Cross, is completely new, it is not an evolution of the SX4 (model that continues to be marketed). It is on sale from 17 495 euros with a gasoline engine of 120 hp and FWD. The more expensive version has a price of 29 295 euros, 120 hp diesel engine and AWD.
The S-Cross is a vehicle tall (1.58 meters high) that family tourism and slightly lower than the road with which it competes. It also has some decorative elements that approach the look of an SUV but, as with the Nissan Qashqai is a model focused on the asphalt.

Suzuki is offered in Spain with two identical power engines, one diesel and one gasoline are 1.6 liters and 120 hp give. The diesel engine is new, the fuel is an evolution from that of the SX4. Both engines can bring a system stop-start in arrests .Additionally, you can choose between front-wheel drive versions and all-wheel drive, the latter being only combinable with more expensive equipment. In the case of the petrol version, is available an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) that replaces the manual.

I've driven the Suzuki S-Cross, diesel engine, manual transmission and two-wheel drive systems. What I find most remarkable is the consumption, however low. The average consumption varies between 4.2 and 4.6 l/100 km, depending on the type of drive and the installation or system "Start & Stop". Only one model similar size and power less fuel, the Peugeot 2008 1.6 e-HDI 114 hp. Also, the impression I have been given is that to get a low consumption must not make a particularly careful driving: a road trip of about 100 miles, driving gently half way and being picky with the engine half , consumption indicating the computer was 5.1 l/100 km. If this is not a big mistake, it is a very good data. One reason that the S-Cross spends little is for lightness: the front-wheel drive diesel version weighs 1315 kg (69, 178 and 200 kg less than a Chevrolet Trax , Qashqai andMitsubishi ASX respectively.

Otherwise I think a proper engine, without having to highlight nor good nor bad in areas like smoothness of operation, the ability to accelerate the S-Cross or noise.
The suspension responds harshly at times, especially the back (maybe with the car loaded is different, I've driven with only two people on board), but in general I find comfortable and properly holding the body. The S-Cross allows for fast driving on winding road that goes well in them and endures heavy props open the path. I did not like the feel of the power steering because the driver fails to transmit information in the way they do others and less accurate driving. It is possible that this problem (for me) goes unnoticed to others or do not seem relevant.
The system of all-wheel drive is what Suzuki calls "ALLGRIP 4WD", in which a multi-plate clutch in oil bath can attach the rear wheels to the front. It has four operating modes: "Auto", "Sport", "Snow" and "Lock". Are selected by a rotary knob and button on the console between the seats. In the program "Auto" are the front wheels that move the car and, if the system detects loss of adhesion, engages the rear wheels through a multi-plate clutch (avoiding the rear wheels boost the car is able to reduce fuel consumption). Mode "Sport" improvement, according to Suzuki, the response on winding roads by sending torque to the rear wheels when cornering and also modifies the response of the motor to accelerate. The program "Snow" is suitable for low grip surfaces as permanent total traction and stability control acts differently. Mode "Lock" clutch is permanently attached and, according to Suzuki, serves to facilitate the advance start on snow, mud or sand.

The carrier is simple, by design and the materials used in the coatings. The simplicity in the design does not seem like a negative, rather the opposite, it is a fast car that you find everything you need to handle it. Exit the cabin of the S-Cross is not comfortable because the car floor is well below the door frame and to get my feet out there that hurdle. I advise to try.
The S-Cross is spacious for leg room, and small normal width by height. On versions with sunroof, a driver over six feet tall will head near the ceiling and in the rear seats, the same thing happens if measured over seventy feet. The trunk has 430 liters. Is a capability similar to that of Citroen C4 Aircross -442 or 416 liters depending on the version, and greater than a Qashqai (400 liters) or Subaru XV (380 liters). An Opel Mokka has 356 liters.
The Suzuki S-Cross is on sale with four trim levels, called "GL", "GLE", "GLX" and "GLX-EL '. From the lowest level, are standard, among others, the following: seven airbags, stability control, cruise control and sensor tire pressure. Among the items of equipment possible there is a panoramic glass roof, unlike other similar roofs in Suzuki, as well as opening the front of the roof, also moved back leaving the interior largely homeless. You can also have a rear camera to assist in maneuvering. The rims are 16 (steel) or 17 inches (aluminum alloy) and tires are mounted on measures 205/60 R16 or 205/50 R17.

The Suzuki SX4 is available from 17 495 euros. This price corresponds to the version with petrol engine 120 hp, front-wheel drive with the lowest level of equipment ("GL"). Currently there is only one model of similar characteristics with lower starting price and standard equipment like the Chevrolet Trax 1.6 of 116 hp. Opel Mokka A 115 hp 1.6 has a similar price, while a Peugeot 2008 1.6 120 hp is about 1100 euros more expensive. From there a version Trax better equipped than the SX4 'GL' is also more affordable.
With the diesel engine of 120 hp and AWD is for sale from 24 995 euros. A Suzuki Grand Vitara 1.9 DDiS of 129 hp and a Skoda Yeti 2.0 TDI 110 HP are the two cheaper alternatives. The standard equipment of this version, with level of equipment "GLE" - is similar to the Yeti and above that of Grand Vitara.
There are ten body colors to choose from, including two new ones: "Lima metallic glass" and "Pearl Metallic Amethyst Gray." The design has some features of the prototype S-Cross that Suzuki unveiled at the Paris Motor Show 2012. This model is manufactured at Suzuki plant in Esztergom (Hungary). Unlike the SX4, the S-Cross there will be a variant of Fiat.
